Cisco’s exam to become a certified CCIE Routing and
Switching engineer is one of the hardest exams to pass.
However even with the right set of testing, one needs the
right set of studying guidelines. Signing up for or buying an online course is
not enough if the individual doesn’t provide himself or herself with the right
training environment.
Steps to take for providing oneself with the right settings
for learning is very important make sure all distractions are no longer
distractions, shut off the cell phone, turn off the television or any other
electronic devices that can take the needed attention away from learning.
When studying for the CCIE exam the majority of individuals split
their study time between practice exams, book study, along with lab time where
they practice with Cisco Training. It’s better to split all of these into
equal parts, rather than trying to focus on one part.
Book study is an important aspect of learning the theory
behind how the router and switches operates. When one gets to the level of
taking the CCIE exam, they are aware there are many options for books.
Unfortunately some of the best-known books only gloss over some topics, which
are important for learning the basics. It is very important to go with a
studying program that digs deep, explaining router configurations along with
real-world examples. Look through online
forums and support communities for the best and most relevant content.
Practice Exams are very important, but people shouldn’t use
it as their main tool for studying. One should also be careful of which ones
they buy from online sites. Some are not worth the money spent on them, others
are good but don’t cover all the topics needed for Cisco CCIE exams. The
practice exams should offer hands on, in depth, practical training on Cisco
equipment, like the practice exam from Presidential Training for CCIE Routing
and Switching.
Nothing can beat learning from hands on experience, and the
mistakes individuals make. Someone can study in every form possible, however
until they gain the understanding of how to debug or show commands, or figuring
out why the frame relay connection won’t work, or why the RIP configuration
isn’t working from the mistakes they made, they might not really understand how
to fix the problems. Whichever system one decides to use,
remember they need to be balanced, not just focusing on one single technique.
